Does anyone using wheelchair or standing support stand for walking and standing as I think I need it for myself as when I go out I can't stand and walk for more than 10 mins going out for appointments and groceries and standing in a lines is very hard for me as I can't stand straight for more than 8 minutes my lower back pain makes me get out from line and take a support of wall . sometimes I have to take support of my husband,I am taking antibiotics for vaginal smell and cold and fever not yet better and due to fever I have a lot of lower back pain even standing in kitchen is very harder for me washing dishes and cooking I take support of shelf but have to do my washing in three four times as I am unable to stand on one place and finish my work on one time.pls help me understand if it is possible to use any help which I can get or I have to manage like this only and if yes where I can have something for my help.

hi Kamna1, I don’t use a wheelchair but I use a walking stick. It’s usually with longer journeys, helps me with shooting pains when I feel my knees will buckle or when I’m getting more fatigued. I hate it but it has helped me be more “active” it gives me the confidence to go out basically. Indoors lots of things are done while sitting down or like you do, taking breaks inbetween washing up etc. If you feel a wheelchair is going to give you a better quality of life and allow you to save some energy then use one. Do whatever helps you with this nasty disease. Wish you well x

Hi Kamna1 I don't use a wheelchair or other walking aids, but I do struggle to stand and or walk for long periods, so I too use the techniques that yourself and Simo7 have described (holding on to work tops and doing activities like washing up in a few goes).
