Pre the pill and other hormones I didn't seem to suffer with anxiety but since starting them I had panic attacks and on one occassion went to the gp which I have regretted since as my symptoms now suggested to be endo were labelled as anxiety for over 10 yrs.
I have been taking 3 x desogesterel a day for over 2 yrs now. Recently they switched me to a different brand and back to the original.
I just don't feel okay at all. Hormone headaches , negative thoughts and horrendous night sweats and fatigue. Just super loathe to go back to the gp to be labelled again as anxious when the cause cant be fixed because the only option given is to take 3 deso a day.
Hi not sure but have you considered that your symptoms might be menopause related? Davina McCall covers pretty much everything about it in her recent book "Menopausing" that I would recommend. You can also find a lot of helpful information on her Instagram page. Hope that helps.
So I hadn't considered this actually as I am 29 I thought the symptoms could probably be due to not having periods on the pill/ pill but yep maybe its masking perimenopause?
Sorry to hear you're suffering from hormone headaches, night sweats, negative thoughts and fatigue. You shouldn't have to accept these symptoms as part of your daily life so it's definitely worth going back to your GP to see if there's another option with regards to treatment. If they say that deso is your only option then please push for a second opinion or referral to an endometriosis specialist.
In the meantime it would be worth taking a read of our Treatment and Management page on our website, which you can find at endometriosis-uk.org/treatm.... If you click on 'Hormone Treatments for Endometriosis' it will take you through to a page where you can download the 'Endometriosis Treatment Pack'.
As well as describing the various hormone treatments, it also offers some suggestions for complementary therapies that may help you to manage your negative thoughts and fatigue.
