Endo and menopause

Anyone reached menopause while taking pill back-to-back? I've not had periods for years and terrified at the thought of stopping but I guess at some point I'll be able to. Did you get menopause symptoms while on the pill? Would I know if I did?! Reluctant to have conversation with GP as I think they'll just say try coming off it and see what happens. Maybe I've got a few years yet but wondering if they'll stop prescribing - I'm currently 48

I am in the exactly same situation as you, same age , same back to back pill and have menopause symptoms! I feel same way about GP too, I know to test for menopause you need to come off pill for at least 3 months which horrifies me. Also I have no idea if I can have hrt or not any way??? Know I need to go to gp and discuss. Did speak to a nurse but with endometriosis she did not want to comment at all and we do not have a menopause nurse anyway. Me too would love to hear what other people have experienced. Sorry I am no help.

Hi, I have just been through this at 47 and was on the pill back to back. You can be on the pill until 50 so if you aren't getting symptoms I would stay on it. That was my plan but the adenomyosis took over!

I started getting the usual menopause symptoms earlier this year, brain fog, dry skin, aches, sweats, insomnia but was ignoring them as was focussed on my hysterectomy & oophorectomy. After my surgery in August I had to wait 10 days until starting HRT and all the same symptoms suddenly got so much worse so were definitely linked to menopause. The HRT kicked in pretty quickly though and the symptoms have all gone now, just have greasy skin and hair which should settle soon, but still better than dry! So the symptoms will push through the pill, and there isn't a reliable blood test for menopause anyway, treatment is all based on symptoms. But taking HRT when you have endo is complicated so this needs to be handled by someone that has expertise in this. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much that does help. Given that I get brain fog, insomnia and lots of aches and pains anyway I'm not sure if I'll recognise any symptoms!😜
