Constipation relief

What a relief to be regular after years of constipation. I didn’t realise that my diet was contributing to this condition. For around 2 years I ate almost daily, 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and a daily banana sometimes two.

I have been prescribed Laxido and find it difficult to regulate . After walking a while I just HAD to go and this caused major stress.

aolution for me is to ditch the Laxido, eggs and bananas and replace with a breakfast bowl of a handful of All bran then handful of All Bran flakes . Top this with 5 prunes soaked overnight and result- going daily EVERY day! Miraculous! Try this.

I cured my constipation by going gluten free, and not eating beef, lamb or pork. But my goodness the relief is great isn't it.

Hi Heather

We're pleased that you found something that worked for you - thanks for sharing with the forum! The right nutrition, combined with stress-reduction techniques and better sleep hygiene can definitely make a positive difference on many symptoms, including constipation. For those looking to implement changes to their diet, we'd recommend consulting a professional nutritional therapist, who would be able to analyse foods currently eaten, symptoms, family history, medication, supplements and so forth to make a highly personalised recommendation. What works for one person may not necessarily work for another and it is important to ensure that no essential nutrients are missing once dietary changes are made. The British Association of Nutritional Therapists website (bant.org.uk) has a full list of members, many of whom will offer a free initial consultation.
