Help with hrt

I’ve been taking evorel 25 and ultrogestan 100 since February for menopause symptoms but the side effects have been getting worse. The menopause team wrote to gp and suggested everol conti or something else. The gp prescribed everol conti as it’s what they prefer. I finally got it today and I’m not happy. The conti is twice the estrogen amount I was on. The menopause Said they want to keep me on lowest dose of estrogen so the endo isn’t reactivated. So why the hell have they suggested it be double. There must be an alternative where i take the same amount of estrogen I’m currently on with the progesterone in an non oral form. Everyone says the side effects are most likely due to the oral progesterone. I was on a bio identical progesterone only cream but never told the doctors as they don’t like you doing anything that helps you and it’s not recognised in the uk. Anyone got any ideas. I can’t speak to menopause team before my appointment at the end of August. Getting a gp appointment will take at least a month. Maybe I should come off it all and use a bio identical cream with progesterone and low dose of estrogen which I would have to buy. I don’t know what to do other than carry on with current medication for now. I ****ing hate being female.

Is the cream progesterone? Are you using that and taking utrogestan. The new patches have both hormones in so all you need to do is use the patch. What symptoms are you having it can take a little while to settle on new HRT so maybe try them

I’m using the evorol 25 patch for estrogen and progesterone as ultrogestan. Been using over 4 months now. By using one patch for both hormones my estrogen dose will be twice what it is now. Having a wide range of side effects from tearfulness, weight gain, heartburn, indegestion, and worsening of existing symptoms such as bloating, pain, brain fog, and more.

It sounds like your estrogen levels are not high enough from the symptoms you listed. 25mg is a very low dose. So maybe you do need the extra. My understanding is that it's unopposed estrogen that is not good for endometriosis. So if you have the progesterone part it opposes the oestrogen. Have a look at the BSM guidelines. They have guidelines on HRT treatment options alongside having endometriosis.
