The date is getting closer but the pain is much much worse. I finally was told that I had a cyst on my left ovary a month after having my ultrasound scans, and also after being given the date for my laparoscopy.
I recently had to go back to taking desogestrel as I had ran out of the new one and with me working away it just wasn’t easy to access. I’ve now stopped after two weeks of taking it, it was making me feel so highly strung and other feelings I didn’t like. I don’t know if it is a coincidence but since stopping taking it the pain in my left side has increased greatly. Lying on my left side hurts, I can’t get comfortable when I want to sleep. I’ve got numbness and tingling right down my left leg. Naproxen isn’t even touching the pain,
I want to exercise but I have zero energy and the pain is preventing me from attempting any.
Any tips or pain killers that you have tried that may help?
Hi,We're in a very similar situation, I am due to have my 1st laprascopy in one week,
And I currently take naproxen and gabapentin, for my s1 nerve and sciatica, I suffer with pain in my side too, an the numbness,
But my gabapentin does help, sometimes I take away the naproxen cause it makes me feel sickly, but I stick with gabapentin,
I have never been given anything for my endometriosis etc apart from mefanamic acid and tranexamic acid for when my periods start because it extreme but I still stick with gabapentin because I cannot take naproxen while taking those 2 when on a period,
I feel you, cause yes it's very uncomfortable and I'm the same laying on my left side increases the pain too,
You need to rest as much as you can, I wouldn't try exercise unless it's light exercise, but then again that's if your body allows you too 😊
I hope this helped, and I hope you feel better soon,
Hi, I have exactly the same but a couple of cysts that require removal. Pain around time of ovulation and during menstruation is most painfull. This is when my head turns to fog, I'm emotional, my feet tingle and then both legs go numb. I don't take any medication apart from paracetamol or ibuprofen. I'm hoping for an operation date to separate the tissue that has connected the organs so in some way I feel like I can move again! I completely empathise with you because sometimes you just don't feel like doing anything because you are so tired but it's also very important to maintain active when you can and little achievements do make you feel good ☺️
Thanks for getting in touch and sending positive vibes for your upcoming laparoscopy. Hope it goes really smoothly! Endometriosis UK have a great resource on their website about preparing for your laparoscopy. It's here if you'd like to have a read: endometriosis-uk.org/your-l...
Sleeping with pain is so difficult and really affects your quality of life, I can really empathise as I have experienced this too. I can see others have offered some great advice below 😊 Sleeping with a hot water bottle on the pain can also be relaxing. However, let's hope that your laparoscopy relieves you of some of the pain. Let us know how you get on.
i recently found out i have 2 chocolate cysts on my left ovaries. For the time being as being fobbed off. I have to take buscopan & codrydamol for the pain it doesn’t get rid but makes it a bare able.
