I have an appointment this week with a general gynae specialist. I saw a specialist at a different hospital (before I moved cities) about a year and a half ago and had a really negative experience. I felt like I wasn’t being taken seriously at all, was spoken to like I was a child who didn’t know anything and was simply told that surgery wasn’t an option for me for no good reason and that I should just keep trying different pills.
Since then, my symptoms have gotten significantly more severe and my flare ups have become very frequent. Does anybody have any advice on how I should go about speaking to the specialist to convince them to take my pain seriously? Should I ask for another ultrasound? Would I be justified in insisting I have a laparoscopy?

Best of luck with your appointment this week I have an initial appointment with a new gynaecologist this week on the NHS I’ve seen a private one in the past and had an MRI which did not show anything ( they referred me back to the NHS because of my medical history they couldn’t do surgery at the private hospital because they’re scared of getting sued basically )So I’m really interested to know what advice people give of what we should say!
I think I will write some notes to take with me to make sure I do not forget anything
