Hello!

I’ve luckily been offered an appointment at a specialist centre tomorrow and am unsure what to expect/prepare for?!

I’ve got some questions but not sure if should have anything else prepared!

Thanks in advance.

I’ve already had a diagnostic lap. This was to discuss symptoms and treatment etc.. added to the wait list for further surgery as feels best options and booked for an MRI.

Hi

An Endometriosis Specialist Centre? If so where - I’ve been desperately trying to get a private appointment with an Endo specialist but my GP doesn’t know of any. I’d be ever so grateful if you could advise me. Thanks and good luck x

Where are you based?

I was seen at the Oxford centre. There is criteria you need to meet to be seen by a centre. If you go on BSGE.org.uk it lists all centres in the UK.

Hey,

I know this was AGEZ ago but I'm trying to find some info on BSGE.

You mentioned you had a diagnostic lap before seeing them. Do you know if it was a general gyne that done it and do you know what stage your endo was?

I had an app with a general gynaecologist Dec 2019, she told me I had no endo symptoms and that you don't even get endo symptoms on the run up to your period etc etc. I pushed for the lap, she begrudgingly put me on the list for surgery.

March 2020 I had my lap and they found endo in 3 places. She told me I've removed some and left some on your bladder.

I asked if she was refering me to BSGE about bladder endo and possible thoracic endo and she said no my endo didn't warrant a referral to the specialist.

I kicked off and put in an official complaint to the kgynocolgy department about her! So the head doctor wrote a letter to the BSGE centre to see if they would take me and they agreed to see me.

So......

I have my app on the 18th March!!! It's been pushed to urgent. Do you think they'll need to do another lap? xx

Not what you're looking for?
