I have been on prostap since October following excision in July, my specialist said I could be on it for 2 years then he would look at a possible hysterectomy. I struggled at first with low mood but patches have helped.
In March I went to A&E as I had really bad pain, ultrasound showed nothing but I had a slight UTI. told it was probably endo related and to see my specialist.
Since then the pain has come back, I’m bleeding every time I have sex again, this had stopped.
I don’t want to see him and be told to continue with prostap, I feel like I’m back to where I was before my excision last year.
Anyone had similar problems?
Thank you x

Hi , you don't say how old you are and whether or not you want children? I guess you are trying to avoid a hysterectomy. I can only relate to how it was for me in 1985. I am only replying to reassure you about having a hyterectomy if you feel you may decide to go ahead. I hear there are a lot of side effects to taking prostap and not everyone is affected by it but this is my story. After years of back pain with numerous visits to physiotherapists, etc and not being able to sit down without pain, I was finally advised to have a hysterectomy. The ovaries were left (this is something your doctor needs to address). The process was straightforward and the recovery period was about six weeks. I had no issues and no regrets. My lifestyle improved and I was able to live a normal life. Better to have it done rather than suffer a life with worry and pain. Good luck x
Sounds very similar to me. I was 34 I had two children and we didn't want another. The ovaries caused me no trouble but...and a bit but well, I',m 71 now and in 2019 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer but by the way amd doing extremely well but still a great shock. I don't know what to suggest about the ovaries. I guess if I'd had a crystal ball, none of this would have happened however having the ovaries removed brings on an early menopause and I imagined myself my age now at the age of 35! Sorry but best to read other people's views but thanks for your reply and again, good luck x
Thanks for getting in touch, and sorry to hear about what you're going through with Prostap. It sounds like it's been really unsettling with the constantly changing symptoms. I definitely feel uneasy when things are off-balance and old symptoms return, like bleeding.
I'm going to share this link with you, which is a resource from Endometriosis UK on Treatment Options: endometriosis-uk.org/sites/...
It can be helpful to know what options there are for you, before speaking to a specialist. I hope you find it useful and find some relief soon!
