I have recently been given the PROSTAP injection last week (12/1/21) because of covid there is no option of surgery which is realistically what I need right now. They told me this would stop the pain and the bleeding and since Sunday (17/01) I started bleeding so heavy and I’m in absolute agony. It’s varying in heaviness day to day from bad to like worst it can get. I bled through 2 pads in 15 mins 2 days ago.
I’m wondering is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this kind of bleeding on prostap? The endo specialist I see said to wait it out and just see my GP if I can’t handle it. But my GP can’t really do much?
Was just generally wondering if anyone else has had these side effects of prostap?

I have irregular cycles due to PCOS too. I was on day 92 when i received the injection lol... all I’ve had is spotting nearly every day for that long cycle. Even the spotting was causing me permanent pain hence the injection being given. But the doctor did not mention a bleed like this would happen off prostap, she was saying it would stop the bleeding all together & the pain. X
Prostap makes everything worse before it gets better, most people say (including the nurses who gave me mine) that you won’t feel the benefit until after the second. Stick with it, it’s worth it, it changed my life I felt like a completely different person. After the first 3 my consultant booked me straight in for a hysterectomy which I had last week.
I’m due my 3rd in two weeks and I’ve been spotting for this entire duration and now have heavy bleeding again. I’m unsure whether to push through and get the 3rd and hope it helps or just stop with that and hold out till surgery. Hope you are recovering well from your hysterectomy
