Prostap bleeding!

Ok so I had my first injection of prostap3 on 29th august then a week later I had my period which started on the 7th sept and it's been going on for 11/12days but for some reason I've been having no blood on my pads for 3 days from last saturday till Monday and only had blood when I had a wee and wiped but then yesterday came and I had a heavy bleed for some reason which has gone away since but today NO BLOOD as of yet and I've seen very little white discharge but vaginal dryness too 😏😣 I'm not getting my Hope's up on nothing and it could start bleeding again no idea but did anyone else get this?

When you first start Prostap treatment it causes what they call a “flare effect” - this usually lasts about a month to 6 weeks and can see all of your endometriosis symptoms (including bleeding and episodes of pain) worsen considerably before the drug fully suppresses your cycle. I’m really sorry this wasn’t explained to you before you started treatment, but this is likely what you are experiencing now.

Always worth double-checking things like this though so for reassurance I would recommend you contact your prescribing specialist just to flag up the “flare” symptoms you are experiencing so that they (and you) can just keep an eye on them and make sure they settle as expected over the next few weeks.

We should find out if there could be any ither reason for bleeding? What about last cervical smear?

My cervical smear is okay nothing bad came from it but I did have cervical ectropion in January this year but nothing since ....but still bleeding on and off now since my period ended ( 15 days ) so far

Gnrh analogues can taje around 15 to 20 days before you can achieve amenorrhea. If bleeding still continues you need a proper gynaecological assessment. Including ultrasound and may be a hysyeroscopy.

What amenorrhea? It's been 15 days already is gnrh prostap? It was a proper gyne appointment but she didnt listen to me or do any tests or US scan just gave me prostap3 injection

You are only 27 years old? I have to say that gnrh analogues are a bit of unusual treatment at this age. If its diagnosed endometriosis then other oral hormonal medications are available.

Also i dont know ifou are planning a family anytime soon. Gnrh analogues are mostly a temporary and last resort or preop treatment. However you should consult a senior gynaecologist whom you like.

Yes I'm 27 and I found it strange also as she didnt do any tests at all my mum went with me too I never ever hurd of prostap3 and she didnt tell me the full info on it ...apart from she said my periods should end but the bleeding has not stopped .....15 days seems to long now

She didnt test endometriosis or do anything I'm so frustrated that she didnt test me for it first as idk what the course of the bleeding is down to or why I'm getting heavy prolonged periods

The gyne and gp I see said it takes weeks or a month for it to settle the bleeding!!! But I dont think it will settle

I worjed in uk for 4 yrs a long time ago. Then i worked in India for a long time. Which area are you in now?

I dont really know what prostap is really used for! And she just gave me it to apparently help stop my periods for 3 months but I feel like it's a lie as nothing has stopped it from bleeding 15 days is way to long

I had my first injection last week nd I just finished my period nd a couple of days ago a started bleeding again it's like a period is natural to bleed again after ur first injection xxx
