What exercises people do?
Hi BeUa,
Endometriosis-UK have a pelvic exercise programme here: endometriosis-uk.org/covid-...
Personally, I do these and some exercises I was given by my physio (referred from my GP). After my laparoscopy and being inactive in lockdown these are starting to help me.
I've also just started to do some martial arts training, just one hour a week. I ache anyway, so it is nice to feel stronger and more in control of the pain in a healthy safe way, which has improved my mood. But this is completely a personal choice and you know your body best. Maybe try something a bit more easy-going depending on what you want. I find a sport with a social element helps me to enjoy it and distracts me from any apprehensions I might unnecessarily have.
HiI do constant back exercises every day. I literally lay on the ground lifting my legs and arms at the same time . Up to the shape of a v. It has helped me some :
Thank you for this.
I used to love running and unfortunately the pain is a struggle to do that. My gp advises yoga which I'm attempting as well as walking but how can you walk when ya back hurts?
😔
I started very slowly with some gentle yoga and then when I could manage it did some walking too. I also did belly dance for a while and that did more for my pain than yoga and walking!
I do some gentle Pilates. I came across an instructor who has endo herself and is a physiotherapist in America called Jessica Vallant. She's on YouTube has has done some workouts specifically for endometriosis. They are free to use and not too long so wouldn't be overwhelming to start off doing.
