Post surgical concerns laparotomy👩🏼‍🔬👩‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️🙏

I am 42 years old and have recently had surgery to remove a grapefruit sized endometrial cyst from my right ovary in April 2022

I initially was planned to have a laparoscopic key hole procedure but the surgeons had to progress to laparotomy

I was told post surgery that I had quite severe endometriosis and that there were many adhesions attached to my uterus bladder ovaries and tubes whilst I had my surgery the surgeons also completed ablation to remove as much of the adhesions as they could

I am currently awaiting an MRI scan of my pelvis to see whether the endometriosis is present elsewhere in my lower abdominal area

Also the surgical team I was under have referred me to the endometrial specialist nursing team and will discuss my case at their next MDT meeting which I am currently awaiting to discuss at a post operation follow up scheduled for June 2022

I have been on a constant period since my operation three weeks since and am concerned as I had a contraceptive injection to prevent periods post surgery whilst still in hospital

Also within the last few days I have experienced menstrual cramping quite bad is this normal ? Is it due to more feeling coming back where I felt numbness form the operation ?

Will the bleeding stop and has anyone else bled like this post laparptomy ? I should state I was on a light period when I went in for the surgery also
