Hi, I am 3 years in to the TTC journey, never had a positive in that time. I was finally diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis after MRI and laproscopy. I have been told I need further surgery at a specialist clinic...but I found out today this won't be for another year, maybe two.
We haven't started IVF yet but I was wondering if anyone had any similar stories/ advice?
Don't know if its even worth moving on to IVF when my insides are such a mess!!

Hi there! I’m in almost the exact same situation as you. 3 years of trying for a baby, 3 years of pain and a recent diagnosis of severe endo that will need surgery. I decided to do ivf and have just completed the first stage of egg collection and fertilisation. On course to have potentially 2 viable embryos (phone call due tomorrow with final results). Due to my condition they are going to freeze my embryos and give my body time to recover for a few months before trying implant. In the meantime they have recommended I go on the pill to give me some endo respite for a few months. Apparently this strategy is used more and more for women like us. I can’t tell you for sure that it will be successful, but I’m 37 and couldn’t afford to wait any longer. All the advice from fertility doctors and gynaecology (and I spoke to several) was to press on with ivf.
I will caution though that all the ivf hormone injection only served to severely exacerbate my endo symptoms - it’s been the most painful 4 weeks of my life and I’m not 100% sure I could do it again if this round isn’t successful.
It’s so hard. There is no right decision here I guess. You just need to consider what’s right for you. My age (and long surgery waiting times) kind of made my decision for me
