Ovary removal only

Hi 👋

I’m new here. Hoping I can get some insight. I have had about 9 months of prostap injections and found my endo/ adeno pain improved so much. A couple of months ago I started HRT to go with the prostap and have found my pain has increased a bit. From what I’ve read this is fairly normal with endo.

Saw gynae today and he said they will only remove the ovaries and won’t do a full hysterectomy. I only have adenomyosis confirmed cos I’ve not had a lap as they wouldn’t do it cos of my weight. But we’re working on the assumption it’s endo too. I’ve asked if they will treat adhesions while they are in there and was told “no, the oophorectomy will cure everything so don’t need to”. This contradicts everything I’ve read so I really don’t know what to do now. I’d love some advice/ guidance/ thoughts from people who have more knowledge than I do.

Is this correct? Or should I ask for a second opinion. I don’t want to go thru surgery more than once and would rather they did a full hysterectomy if I’m honest!

Hi Sounds just the same as me but haven’t start hrt yet but will be this week,As I had my operation yesterday and had ovaries and tubes removed, all went well. Just tired and sore at the moment.
