I had my laparoscopy yesterday and since waking up I have had a weird sensation in the back of my mouth/throat. Once I was able to look in a mirror I could see my uvula is quite inflamed (im guessing from the breathing tube) and the weird feeling is that it is now resting on my tongue as I close my mouth and speak
It is unpleasant generally and when I swallow, and making me want to gag, so I was wondering if anyone had experienced this and had any tips to help it go down?
Thank you

My uvula went white and was so sore I could hardly eat. I contacted my GP and had a telephone appointment and sent them a photo and they prescribed antibiotics and a spray to soothe it. The white skin dropped off which was not very pleasant as it does catch in your throat and it healed up nicely in about 7 days.
The end of mine looks white on either side and I think it has started sloughing off a bit too! Thank you for sharing your experience, I think if I’m still getting grief from it on Monday I’ll call the gp. Glad to hear it heals nice and quickly
