6 months after having my laparoscopy, I’m now in a lot of pain again - has anyone else had this? Anything you’d recommend for managing it?

Life after laparoscopy
Hiya. It's been 4 month since my first lap (it was an emergency op). the first 2 weeks I had no pain but after that pain started coming back, and now it is worse than ever before.
I am sorry that you are in pain but try an speak to your doctor which I do know isn't the easiest thing.
Hi Orange,
Yes, sadly my endometriosis just grew back within 6 months of my first lap, some on new areas including my bowel so the pain returned fairly quickly. I was warned this was likely and that surgery isn't a cure, just a temporary pause. In my case I wasn't taking any meds to prevent regrowth, down to other personal circumstances but was told taking meds can really help with slowing regrowth and managing pain after surgery.
I ended up having a 2nd surgery within 18 months of the 1st.
If you're not already on birth control or meds I'd definitely recommend speaking to your consultant gynae at local hospital or your GP. This is my next step once our baby is here as been told my endo pain and periods will return as normal once I stop breastfeeding. Xx
