Smoking and surgery?

Hello ladies I have another question,

Is anyone else a smoker and had the surgery? Has it caused you any complications?

Hi Altranethebrave,

I’m one of the health unlocked moderators for Endo UK. I appreciate how difficult it is to stop and you definitely can’t smoke in hospital but they will allow nicotine replacement products like the little inhaler. I have found some useful info from the NHS website on smoking and survey and attached the link below. I know my doctor told me it slows the healing process so I did stop pre op. Hope that helps.

I am a smoker I am 41 and had a hysterectomy and endometriosis surgery for stage four endometriosis and I didn’t have any problems during or after surgery in March 2021
