Can one nodule cause so much pain?

Hiya all,

When I had my lap last week the gynaecologist told me she found an endometriosis nodule in my right utero sacral ligament and that it was to deep for her to remove so I would a specialist to do it.

I have had sciatic type pain for nearly three years that is always present although it gets worse when I am on my period. I also get terrible constipation, migraines and ovulation pain. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced having a lot of symptoms from one nodule? Also the gynae recommended to go on the pill as I didn’t want the coil which I am willing to do but last time I was on the pill it didn’t stop the sciatic pain, does the pill stop the pain from what endometriosis is already there or does it stop more growth? I don’t know if the only way to get relief is to have the second laparoscopy and I don’t know if it a risky procedure because it’s deep. Sorry to go on it’s just I have so many questions unanswered, am still awaiting a letter from the gynae detailing my laparoscopy results.

I just thought it was worth noting I have had mri for my spine and hips because it was first though my pain was to do with my spine/bones but the results were good and I was told my spine looks very healthy and what was seen on the mri was possible endometriosis deposits that how I ended up seeing a gynaecologist.

Thank you for reading and any advice/ similar experiences would be very appreciated.

Sending hugs to you all xx

A very small amount of endometriosis can cause horrendous pain, the ligaments can be tender beyond belief and give you pain off the scale. I can't really answer your other questions sorry.

It's good that the surgeon knew their limitations and referred you elsewhere.

Good luck with everything. xx
