I had my second laparoscopy yesterday and the gyne informed me that there was minor mild endometriosis which she removed during surgery. She informed me that I would not have to have any more laproscopys (however also said that on my last laparoscopy to remove endometriosis - mild also - four years ago).
My question is why did that cause me so much pain? I feel like the gyne thought I had been so dramatic about the pain I was getting. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

The amount of endo isn't related to the intensity of the symptoms: some can have a little endo with a lot of pain and some can have lots of endo with little pain, so it varies.
I had pain for years, about 15 but never said anything as I thought it was normal, it's only been in the last three years ish that I've been that bad I needed to be seen to. Then I found out I had endo all over my abdomen, and sticking all my organs together. Specialist was amazed how I'd been going along all that time with what he classed as severe endo.
My specialist at my check up appointment 2 weeks after my lap, said he usually expects to see women reporting a recurrence of endo symptoms 2 years after lap to excise it with most needing a second op 3 to 4 years after the first. So repeat laps unfortunately can be required.
That’s really helpful thank you.. don’t feel like I was being dramatic with the pain I was having. And could be the case that il need a 3rd laparoscopy in a few years but we shall see.
It sounds like you had a lot, you did well to deal with it for 15 years. I hope you recovered well from the laparoscopy.
You definitely weren't being dramatic, it's awful that some doctors think we're making it up.
I'm 4 months after my lap, i'll need another to remove endo on bowel but for the moment it's soooo much better than before; I know my cycles and when I get endo symptoms so I can plan around it. It's good to know what I have, after 15 years of thinking everyone just copes and I can't.
Hopefully you'll be fine for a while, it'll be good to get your life back if only for bit. Enjoy each day xx
Hi! I also have mild endo - one patch on my uterosacral ligament and a peritoneal cyst, but that didn't stop me from being in serious pain in the build up to my period as well as having random stabbing pains for no real reason. Endo is strange because the amount of disease that you have doesn't necessarily correlate to how many symptoms you experience. You can have mild endo with severe symptoms and severe endo with virtually no symptoms. Hope you feel better soon xx
You were definately not being over dramatic! My surgeon said that stage 1 can be excruciatingly painful, and stage 4 can cause no pain! They are not yet 100% sure what causes the pain in endometriosis.
