Some of you may remember my post from nearly a month ago about how utterly shit my first gynae appointment went. This appointment went the complete opposite!
The new consultant listened to my concerns and took them to heart. She didn’t doubt me when I said I’m in such horrible pain unlike the previous consultant. Not to mention she actually read my list of my symptoms!
Best news? I’ve been booked in to have a laparoscopy! I said I wanted it before but was denied and the consultant made excuses. This time I said I wanted it and made that clear - for once I was firm - and the consultant told me of everything they’d need to do (mainly because I’ve never been sexually active) and said she would book it in! No excuses, no bullshitting around.
I’n honestly so happy with how the appointment went. Hopefully I won’t be waiting too long and I can start getting sorted out. Honestly, we need more doctors like the one I just saw in the world. There is a reason why endometriosis takes an average of 7.5 years to diagnose - that’s for sure!

Hi! I’ve been experiencing a lot of different symptoms: pain in lower stomach, thighs, back, painful bowel movements, heavy and extremely painful periods - before going on the pill, I could never predict when they would happen. Endo can affect everyone differently, but those are my main symptoms. I can experience other symptoms like lightheadedness thanks to the pain as well
I have a constant full ache in stomach which changes to sharp stubby pains and cramping and my back is throbbing pain in hips and thighs, feel sick and lightheaded I’m been referred to gyno but want to push them for lapscopy as have read it’s only way to detect it.
I to have heavy periods which have just recently stoped due to getting depo injection but still have the other symptoms it’s very frustrating as feel like it’s all in my head and need someone to help to get me a diagnosis.
Endo is very difficult to come to terms with because it is invisible to anyone who looks at you. Having a lap is the only sure way yes so definitely push for that - I learnt that I have to push for things to be done. I can be difficult to explain exactly how you feel so i have found that writing a list with all your details/concerns/symptoms is very helpful
