I’m approaching the third week after my first prostap injection- my pain levels are down and I’m feeling pretty ok... it’s a very strange sensation! I’ve had one period of feeling very hot, but to be fair it was hot outside!
My question is, is this it? Dare I hope that it’s ‘fixing’ me?! Or, does it take a while to kick in as such and I’m just having a good week? Love to hear your experiences and advice as always!! X

Hey, everyone is different, some people don’t get side effects, some do. I definitely wouldn’t overthink it haha as I was on zoladex this year and the hot flushes and other side effects were awful. The only good thing was it stopped my period and most of the pain for a few months.
For me, it kicked in straight away and after the first week, I was in menopause. Hopefully, it helps you and you don’t get any side effects xx
hi. Hope you're enjoying feeling well. I had 6 months on prostap and it worked really well for me. I have stage 4 deep infiltrated endometriosis and I was in a lot of pain, I had surgery and it was much worse than expected and they said I had the injections or it'll come back in months. Luckily I didn't research it as it doesn't agree with many people but other than the very occasionally hot flush I was pain free which was amazing 😃. I didn't have hrt with it. I found my cycles were what I suspect is normal with just the odd paracetamol not the passing out in pain and having weeks in hospital to get on top of the pain 🙉 since stopping the prostap. I hope you stay well and make the most of it 😊. Xx
Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply. I hope you are feeling well? I’m doing pretty great with this injection-I’m due my next one Tuesday, and this last week is traditionally the worst in my cycle. I’m not pain free but it’s nothing like it has been, but I was wondering if it’s flaring abit because I’m due my next injection? I’m very happy with it though-best symptomatic relief yet, I’ve had more energy and felt more like me. I’ve been informed that if this works for me then a full hysterectomy is likely to. I’m having 3 injections before I go back to see consultant, then maybe he will put me on surgery list. I’m not sure how long you can stay on this injection for?
Hi. Yes it could be just that you need the next injection. If I remember rightly they said 3/6 months without hrt was the longest I could be on it for, I’m afraid beyond that I don’t know as we went on to do ivf. Do you know the stage of your endo? I also have it on my bowel and bladder and find that diet plays a big part in my pain, took a while to figure it out if I eat something I shouldn’t I see an increase in the pain. Xx
Yeah my consultant wants me to do three months with no HRT. He never specified a stage, but had to excise quite a lot throughout my pelvis and I had adhesions between my ovary and bowel and uterus and pelvic wall, endo on my bladder, prolapsed uterus... only thing that he never mentioned he found was cysts, but we believe I could have had previously on my bladder that burst and bled through. When I think back to what I’ve been going through I really am in a much better place and looking forward to my injection on Tuesday!!! X
Hi. It was similar with me but it was cysts that indicated I had a problem as one ruptured and they thought it was my appendix, was in a tricky location and when they removed it they found a full frozen pelvis 🙉 my 2 hour surgery turned into 5 and 1/2 hours but it really helped. It is great when something works and you start to feel yourself again 🙂. Have you suffered with it a long time? Xx
Oh man I’ve read about frozen pelvis-not good. I’ve always had heavy and painful periods from when I was 9 and started them, but my ‘real’ pain started in 2012 then got extreme in Jan 2016, since then it took over my life as it does. I had my hopes pinned on the lap giving me some relief, I got about one milder month before it came back equally as bad then worse. I think I have had cysts that ruptured, never felt anything like it. X
