Did anyone have a blood test to get their prolactin levels measured before trying for a baby? My doctor has just requested one x

I had a blood test at the start of these investigations, which showed my prolactin was raised. GP blamed the Subutex medication I am still stuck on, which has complicated my pain relief to the point I do not have any.

However, I disagree, I have seen a private gynae since then and she told me I had endo, then I googled it, and endo can indeed cause raised prolactin, and the research shows that women with endo, with raised levels of prolactin, can struggle to get pregnant.

I am the total opposite, I do not want my fertility preserved as I have Autism, and I am 35 now anyway, no kids.

I wish I could give any fertility I may have left to someone who needs it. I honestly wish this were possible, as I feel SO bad saying this.

I feel bad saying it, but it's my story, NOT yours. I really hope you manage to conceive, what a wonderful thing that will be for someone who has suffered this much. To all women with endo, who have suffered for so long, body owes you this baby, and I wish you so much luck.

Will this be your first, or one of many? x

Don’t feel bad at all, I think it’s really brave of you! Everyone has their own reasons on this journey and honestly I don’t know we do it sometimes.

I did think endo would raise the prolactin levels (il know once I have my blood test). Thank you so much, having a family is all I ever wanted I was never career minded or anything like that. It will be my first but I have a few more health conditions that are also obstacles to getting pregnant/carrying the baby so I have a lot to think about x
