Hi
As anyone has a lidocaine infusion?
I was given very little info about it in May, and now got a letter booking me for this procedure, without being offered other options.
Thanks

I haven’t but I’m also intrigued as to what it involves and how to have one.I waited over a year for pain management and the only thing suggested on top of the zapain, naproxen and pregabalin that I already take was lidocaine patches but my GP won’t let me have them and also stopped my tramadol so currently investigating alternatives.
Best wishes to you xxx
HiSo the lidocaine is a infusion procedure through an iv drip. It's meant to numb the nerve, to control the pain.
But I've had so many reactions to different drugs, that I'm hesitant and highly anxious, as no info was given to me, when we had a quick telephone chat in March.
There are side effects, which I'm not keen on. I want to know from the consultant, what else they can offer, instead of more this.
I hope you get referred soon to the pain team. It took years to be finally referred. But by then the damage was already done.
Best wishes 🙂
