Adenomyosis pains and heavy bleeding

Hey

I have adenomyosis and I can't put to words the amount of pain and bleeding I have on a monthly basis. I know this group is for endometriosis sufferers but I was just wondering if there's anyone here with adenomyosis having the same experience and what they are taking to relieve the pain and the excess bleeding. I've tried cocodamol 30/500, tramadol 50g, mefenamic acid and tranexamic acid but each has been as useless as the other ☹️

Any other suggestions?

Hi I have endometriosis and adenomyosis and my main symptoms are very heavy bleeding through my clothes and pads with large clots and I bleed for months on end. Also labour like pains. Tried lots of contraception pills, tranexamic acid and menefemic acid all of which don’t work for me.

The only relief I have had so far is the decepeptyl injection and an HRT patch.

I still have some bleeds, hardly anything now and no pain. This isn’t a long term plan to stay on this as been told it’s only until I can get a hysterectomy, currently on the waiting list for my consultation xx

I have adenomyosis! Was diagnosed 2 weeks ago after 5 years of multiple hospital admissions. I am only 26 and after my consultation 2 weeks ago I was told that the only way is a hysterectomy due to the fact I've tried every pain med. 💔

Try hormone therapy before the last resort - surgery.

No diary , no red meat.

I have adeno and I suspect endo as well . Currently in bed having taken Codine , Iboprufen and hooked up to a tens machine. The pain is something else . My GP after months of complaining has put me on tranexamic acid and prescription strength codine . The tranexamic acid has helped in that I’m not passing big clots which are obviously painful to pass. I take the codine plus I take Ibuprofen an hour of two after and also paracetamol if I need it . I also have anti nausea tablets as I throw up with the pain.Herbal supplements that I swear by are Agnus Castus, this has massively reduced my pain and also Nac- N Acetyl Cystine which works on Inflamation and again has reduced my pain .

I had experienced it years ago. I went to Beijing, China and had HIFU done twice in years. It treated the heavy bleeding. Then I tried Progestin only pills , Aygestin works best with some side effects. It stopped my period four months this year with no pain. Next month I will try Visanne.

My primary dr and OBGYN advised to try progestin iud and my body can’t have it.

Generally, hormone therapy worth a try before the last resort- surgery.

Vitamine complex B, C, D3, B12, magnesium , no diary and no red meat diet , regulars exercise and meditation help mood , body and pain in long term.

I’m so sorry you have to go through this. There is alway hope in the darkness. Hope you best.

Hi am undergoing tests to find a cause for my heavy and irregular bleeding. I have not been diagnosed with anything so far. I bleed through my clothes regularly, passing large clots and the pain is a mixture of stabbing and intense period pain. I also get period pain during the rare times I am not bleeding. I have had a fibroid removal in the past and was okay after this until last September when symptoms worsened again. I have also been given tranexamic acid along with norethisterone and provera- not having much luck with any. I am unable to take the combined pill so am limited to hormone options. The coil/IUD puts me off from the horror stories I've heard from friends. I have recently had a hysteroscopy and had biopsies taken- can adenomysosis be diagnosed this way?

I'm sorry for your pain. I know what you going thru, I have adenomyosis, fibriods and endometriosis, no tablets were helping me, no pill or decapeptyl was helping, side effects were shocking. The only thing that actually made my life almost normal again was vitamine d glucarate, serrapeptesse and to go low fodmap diet, is quite strict but life changing. Since I started to take these supliments and changed diet I feel so much better. Also I think good idea is to visit nutritionist, healthy gut is also very important. We all different so maybe what is helping me will not help you but I heard many great stories about these supliments and diet change. Good luck to you !
