Mini-pill has ‘stopped’ pain ? Is this even endo?

Hi — wondered if anyone has experienced this

I was having excruciating pain every month from March 2020 to beginning of this year. I have had an MRI which shows a large adhesion b/w uterus and bowel/rectum, evidence of cystic areas, a large nodule on uterus and evidence of adenomyosis. I have been put on a waiting list for laparoscopy with excision but have since been referred to BSGE centre as bowel involved.

While awaiting mirena coil I asked to be put on the mini pill as heard it could help. I started taking this in late March this year, For the last few months I am not exaggerating when I say my pain has pretty much stopped, as well as my periods. I’ve had several days where I’ve felt some low level cramping which has always been an indicator of oncoming pain, but it hasn’t materialised.

Is this normal? I see posts of here about the regular almost constant pain people are in and feel almost a bit of a fraud, especially as I’ve been lucky to have been referred to a BSGE centre. Even if my periods have stopped, why is my adhesion not flaring up?

I’ve been read that endometrial adhesions can be caused by infections rather than endo/- but that doesn’t explain why pill had helped. Unless timing is a coincidence?

Do you think I will still require excision if I’m not in pain, or is the adhesion only going to get worse?

Could this just be a blip?

Thanks for any advice or for letting me know your experiences. I am endlessly confused by this

Yeah, I think it works for a lot of people. Can’t say it worked for me, plus I just ballooned by boobs and bum were ridiculous, I looked like a giant chicken! (I’m not saying it looked good, it really didn’t!) and I just felt heavy and sluggish all the time. If it works for you then that is brilliant! Congrats! The pill has basically suppressed your periods, stopping your lesions from bleeding so new cells arent being transferred. I personally would still have the surgery because it’s so rare they actually offer it and it can still get worse, also I if you’re looking to have children at some point. I had horrendous pain for 16 years before I was actually listened to - vomiting, off work every month, it was crazy. Also, they probably want to be sure of what it is and make sure that the diagnoses are correct
