I had my first lap today and was told I didn’t have endometriosis.
They suggested the mirena coil to help my symptoms.
Has anyone else been told they were negative and to get the coil and how did they find it? I have anxiety so I’m worried it will affect my overall mood.
Thanks!
Lauren

So sorry to hear you aren’t getting answers, did you go to a BSGE centre for this lap? Some general gynae surgeons aren’t able to spot it. Don’t give up in trying to get help. It’s tiring, it took me 26 years for a diagnosis and was always told it’s normal periods and I imagined it etc. Good luck x
Wow! Sorry to hear that it took you so long to get diagnosed! What took so long for you to get diagnosed? Other than the dismissal from doctors.. had they done multiple laparoscopies? Or just one and done?! I only ask cause I’m in a difficult situation atm where I’ve had a laparoscopy but they weren’t a Endo specialist and today I had my first appointment with gynae since being discharged after my first lap and she said she’s not prepared to put me through another lap but wants to give me the same treatment for Endo even though she’s not sure I have it. I’m not convinced I don’t because of my symptoms x
How frustrating for you to have a lap and no diagnosis. Why do they let u go thru that and not with a specialist. Well I was put on the pill at 15 after 3 yrs of going to drs crying for help, normal to have a bit of pain! Bit it was agony. Then had 2 kids at 21 and 26, took 2 yrs to fall pregnant with 2nd one. Glad I started young or I wouldn’t have had them at all. Bleeding got heavier and I had an ablation at 39 which helped for 2 years so then was diagnosed with fibroids and had a lap as gynae were suspicious of endo which I never heard of. Had hysterectomy aged 42 and endo was found in POd ligaments cul de sac and then further excision last Sept. Still in pain but they say it’s scar tissue/adhesions and bladder prolapse. At the end of my tether really as they keep pushing for menopause jab which I really don’t want. They treat u like u aren’t helping yourself but I don’t want yet more problems to deal with as it doesn’t actually stop it growing but may help with pain!! Drs have told me to go home and download a calm app and it must be in my mind. Nobody actually listens to what you are trying to explain. Now having blood on stools so Drs said so casually well that’s bowel endometriosis so have the jab! She also suggests maybe private surgery for adhesions but it could run into thousands by the time they repair the prolapse too. Sorry for rant but I am so stressed with it all. Years and years of pain and still no better off. I hope you get some help or at least a good dr xx
It’s like they go out of their way NOT to help us.. it’s ridiculous! It felt like it took along time for me to fall pregnant too and I felt the healthiest I’ve ever been while I was and since I’ve had my son ive just got worse as the years have gone by! She offered me the menopause jab too! I’m not convinced by it at all, it’s not something I want to do either especially considering they aren’t willing to get a specialist to have a look at me. Yeah private care is just too much I’d do it if I could but it’s not an option. Sorry you’ve been going through all this for so long it really sucks. Deserve a break xx
I’m in the same position atm had a gynae appointment today and she literally cannot seem to tell me why I’m having such horrendous symptoms but isn’t prepared to do another laparoscopy after years of still being in pain. Every doctor ive met seems to be completely stumped by my chronic pains. She suggested I have the coil or for me to have injections that put me into temporary menopause which is something I really don’t want to do. Im on the mini pill atm but I don’t know if I should try the coil.. take your time deciding and I hope you get some relief soon x
