Hi everyone looking for help! Im due my prostap injection today, in the leaflet it says not to have if you have depression, which I’ve suffered with on and off my whole life. I’m thinking it may be hormone related as it tends to come in cycles with my period. I’m so worried. I’m frightened my mental health will get even worse and I’m not sure I can cope with that. Or it may cure it! The gynae said to know if my low mood is definitely pmt, going through induced menopause will give you an answer to this. As if mood remains low it is a MH issue and not hormone related, I’m 98% sure it is.
Also I have just read that I should have the injection in the first five days of my cycle but I am not due on until probably Monday/Tuesday next week. But the GP never mentioned this when my appointment was originally booked.

Hi there,I was put on prostap for 6 months and worried what it states in the leaflet but all just cover the possible side effects (worst case senario i take with a pinch of salt). So i wouldnt worry about about the depression side of it, I was on top of the world with taking prostap after it worked its way in after the first month so give it time, my periods stopped so i was free of pain and its like the pill you can start having it given anytime of the monthly cycle i was told and you will probably see that period next week until the prostap get ito your system. Hope it does you well and try and go with the flow.
