Narrow poop and endometriosis?

Hi all. Endo since 2009. I had gallbladder surgery a few years ago and seems to have cyclic swelling on the right hand abdo and uterus. I had an ultrasound and she said I was 'stuck together as typical with endo'.

Usually due to my pain releif I have large constipated bowel movements. Recently I find that they are very narrow and pencil like. Obviously google says I have cancer as it usually does (!) but anyone out there experience this with bowel endo?

Thanks so much x

As far as I know I don’t have Endo on my bowel only on my bladder and in the pelvic cavity but I do get IBS mainly constipation and I get thin narrow pencil like stools as well as normal ones. I have had a colonoscopy in the past and nothing unusual was picked up. But why I get the thin stools is anyone’s guess I have heard it can be narrowing in the bowel but like I say I never had anything unusual picked up during my colonoscopy. Sorry I haven’t been much help.

Oh gosh please don't apologise. I am happy you have replied! Thankyou so much for sharing. I think maybe I have adhesions and swelling that might be causing flare ups and narrowing at times. I am reluctant for any surgery so I know in a way I just have to deal with it. Its a very new symptom for me so its comforting to read your reply. Will probably ask to do a stool sample for testing to rule out anything sinister. Thanks so much and all the best to you xx

Hi I know I have adhesions as I had them separated during my last surgery so maybe that is the answer in our case.

I know this is a old post, and I hope you are doing better by now. I have endo and in a few weeks am having excision surgery. My endo is in my bowels and causes severe issues. Pencil thin bowel movements if at all. I have to take medication every day to keep myself cleaned out or else at this point I pretty well do not go at all and I get very uncomfortable and also have issues with my intestines getting cut and bleeding. Endo can cause so many issues with the GI tract. It has been a nightmare for me.

hello, I’ve been struggling with the same stool issue you describe for the last few years. I only recently started to wonder if it may be endo. Would you be open to sharing more and answering some questions?

Yes this happens to me sometimes, I have awful problems with constipation and don’t go for ages then spend all day on toilet. 😫x
