spotting on cerazette

hi all,

about 5 weeks ago i started taking cerazette and i have been randomly spotting since about 3 weeks ago. before that i was taking provera which i never bled on but after about 6 months my gynae wanted me to switch to cerazette so my body would learn to cope with lower amounts of progesterone. for the first 2 weeks after i started taking cerazette i was being advised to take it with my normal dose of provera, which i did, but after that i started spotting. it starts really randomly and i’m a bit nervous as i’m getting period pain (not as bad as i’m used to but still a solid 5-7/10 when it hits). before i started taking progesterone my periods were excruciating and i would be so ill during them. the whole reason i’m on the pill is so i don’t bleed at all so i’m wondering if i should ask my gynae whether i should switch back to provera or just wait it out to see if the spotting stops? the provera dosage was much higher than the cerazette (20 milligrams vs 75 micro grams) so maybe i just need more time to adjust… i’m just worried about it becoming more painful as the pain i’m used to just isn’t something i can deal with at home.

Hi, I have been on and off cerazette at least twice and both times I experienced a bit more than spotting let’s say. I was told to see how I got on and it took a while but it did stop for me. It took a few months though rather than weeks. Both times I spoke with my GP to get their view.
