Hi there all! I hope you're well.
I'm hoping to get some advise from you lovely lot. I've recently had the implant put back in after years of being on the coil as my consultant at an endo specialist centre suggested that my coil was making my endo worse (as they suspect its deep in my uterus and the foreign object in there is irritating it further) so they suggested I tried the implant again.
I had the implant twice when I was younger, but moved onto coils about 4 years ago. My GP (who is lovely and has been great throughout my endo journey) mentioned they recommend putting the implant in a slightly different area in the arm compared to when I used to get it in the past. I followed all the aftercare tips etc.
However, three weeks on and every time I prop myself up/put weight on my elbow (e.g when I'm moving in bed or something, or heavy lifting) or when putting my arm flat against my side, I get this awful shooting pain from my implant down my arm that's very intense and then dulls down to an aching throb. It's painful enough that I tend to cry out, but for context I don't tend to even wince during implant/injection/coil insertion.
Normally I would contact my GPS for advice, but I'm wondering if this is normal as it's only been 3 weeks and it's still healing maybe? As they've changed the site from where I used to have it inserted im just not sure if what I'm feeling is normal, I can't remember it being this painful the last time I had it done and I'm not sure if I'm just being a baby hahaha.
Anyone who's recently had the implant and can let me know how theirs felt/how quickly the pain stopped for them would be very helpful, thank you.
