I have had hideous periods, heavy and painful, since 14 (now 39) and have been on the pill the majority of the time since (except for having two children). The last year or so my symptoms have got much worse and include pelvic pain all month, cysts, and stabbing ovary pains. I had a scan in December and saw a consultant in March who has put me on the waiting list for hystroscopy with biopsy and laparoscopy. I called the hospital last week to see how long the wait was and they said at least a year. I work as a zookeeper and my job is extremely physical, I walk 15km a day and regularly lift weights of up to 25kg . I’ve been having time off every couple of months and am on max dose of codeine and naproxen. Last week my Mum said she would pay for me to go private and then just like that I have surgery booked for 5th July! (With the same surgeon!). Has anyone else had a lap at the Spire Southampton, if so how was it?

I haad a lap at a different Spire, they were very nice. Is this a surgeon you are happy with, experienced with Endo? If you are paying I would reccommend that you are happy with this part of things.
Hiya, yes he is. He was the consultant I was referred to on the NHS bad specialises in laparoscopic excision. He seems very knowledgeable and honest so hopefully he’ll be able to help me...
I had a lap with an endo consultant at the Spire Portsmouth in 2018. He was very good and their care was excellent. The room was nicer than some hotels I've stayed in! Nurses were great. For me it was a good experience. Hopefully it will be for you to. All the best with the surgery x
