I am a full time family and wedding photographer and as restrictions are easing, I’ve started shooting again. I just wanted to hear from people with active jobs and how you cope with pain?
4 hours of shooting yesterday means I am in quite a lot of pain now and am heading off for an 8 hour stint shortly. I will put on my heat belt, take Solpadeine every 4 hours today and drink loads of fluids/eat fibre but apart from that, I am worried about how else to cope.
The wedding season is starting again soon and I need to have strategies in place.
Any ideas? Exercises I should do?
There was a lovely kind lady on here a couple of weeks ago who seemed to have a similar experience but I can’t find her again...
Thank you!

I work as a senior manager and frequent travels, workshops, meetings were part of my routine... there were few occasions when I had to take time off but tactics that help/helped me:- yoga - I’m not very flexible and many years ago I found it quite intimidating first in a yoga studio but the difference it made on reducing my pain was massive; search YouTube for “yoga endometriosis” or “yoga pelvic pain” and there are a few great, grounding sessions
- meditation - I prefer guided meditation and use Headspace app (Calm app seems great too), it particularly helps me to get my head out of pain when I’m about to go to sleep
- “mindful eating” - I tend to eat fast and irregular when I’m busy and this messes up my digestion and increased endo pains follow quickly... slowing down when I eat, having fiber rich breakfast helps me
- magnesium baths - with magnesium flakes or salts
- ginger tea instead of coffee to start my day - this was a difficult one to adjust to
Generally breathing exercises with time I found very helpful, they get your mind out of the pain and focus on breath, help with calming the body and mind.
I’m about to try acupuncture, also started using BeYou patches which provide a nice relief for me and are very discreet.
