Hi - I’m due to have a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy on Monday and I’m starting freak out a bit.
I’m really worried about blood clots forming post surgery - I have intermittent positive antiphospholipid syndrome and have suffered acute coronary syndrome and a central retinal vein occlusion. I have not been officially diagnosed with anything that requires me to take any medication stronger than daily dose of baby aspirin. My procedures have been postponed a couple times (partly Covid related) - but it can finally go ahead and I’m just so scared of having problems afterwards. But the symptoms I’m suffering mean the need for the procedure is very much still there. I’m soul searching I guess, in need of reassurance.
I have injections into my eye and due to start next course on 29th April - it’s so difficult to get different departments in the NHS to talk to each other and even harder to speak to a dr without a specific appointment in order to ask questions. I think I will be injected with and provided with Fragmin pre and post op. I guess I just want to hear if anyone has had any truly adverse experiences? I know my case is not usual and has additional complexities - I just don’t know where else to find out some honest information.
Best wishes
