Hi everyone, thank you all for the suggestions and well wishes on my previous post.

I have been prescribed tranexamic acid. Has anyone got any experiences with this? Has it helped the bleeding or pain? Did anyone find it upset their stomach?

Does anyone have any tips on how to manage the bloating and diarrhoea associated with endo?

Thanks everyone xo

Hi!I’ve been on Trannexamic Acid for years now and it’s helped me a lot with the bleeding. It hasn’t made my bleeds any shorter, in terms of how many days I’m bleeding, but they are much lighter.

They usually prescribe for you to take it onset of period and for four days only. But I find that it helps my entire period become lighter and with less clots. It hasn’t helped my pain, I do take strong pain killers to manage the pain along side this.

I hope this helps!

Hi I've been on Trannexamic Acid but did not have a good experience with it as it made me to have more blood clots which remained inside and unable to come out which triggered the endo pain more. They have given me Norethisterone and this has helped me. I guess everyone's body is different.

I have been on transamic acid for over a year now and although it has helped my period has become heavier and now I also take Norethistetone. Unfortunately for me my cycle is totally all over the place and am going through a continuous period since the beginning of the year. Apparently the continuing bleeding is due to fibroids, thankfully I have a gynaecologist appointment on Monday. I have been suffering with anxiety and exhausted due to low iron. With all medication I don’t think is a good idea to be on them for too long. A natural remedy or change of diet should be but in place.

I used to be on Tranexamic acid and mefanamic acid together. The mefanamic acid was to help with the pain and the other to help the period flow better with less clots. I found that they both really helped on the days when I was on my period. I stopped taking both a couple of months after I had excision surgery. I’ve still felt quite bloated but recently changed to an endo diet to see if this helps with the bloating. I also still have endo on my bowel which will require further surgery and used to get really bad IBS symptoms when I was on my period, but I feel like this also improved even though I still need further surgery for this. I guess is might be worth trying a few different things to work out what helps. Wishing you all the best x

For me tranexamic acid brings my bleeding to a completely stop. Which then resumes with even more pain and clots once I stop taking it. Clearly doesn’t agree with me, but not many things do! I’ve heard it works wonders for others. I hope this is the case for you. 🙂
