Does anyone know if a laparoscopy will be performed on under 18s?

My daughter is 15 ( 16 next month) we were told in December she will need a lap if hormone injection doesn’t work, I’m now being told by some they aren’t done for under 18s - does anyone know?

Yes age isn't a reason not to perform a lap. So it should not stop her for getting one.

So you know what injection she's on? As I know some if not all should not be given to anyone under the age of 25 due to the risk of reducing bone density. Which doesn't reach it's full potential until then.

Thanks looked at NICE guidance and couldn’t see age. I just know 3 month depo provera? Thanks so much

You can definitely be operated on at any age, I had 2 laps age 17, the biggest factor is finding a good specialist surgeon who will be considerate x
