Hi I'm new to here Been told by my consultant that there is nothing else he can do for my endometriosis apart from full hysterectomy and will have to have a colonoscopy bag fitted due to damage to my bowls. Was diagnosed 9 years ago with severe grade 4 endometriosis and already had several ops to no avail I'm only 43 and feel that I'm too young to have to live with a colonoscopy bag feel I have already gone through enough and need lifeline don't know how much more I can take.

My heart goes out to you.

If you go over to the pelvic pain support forum on here and post there may be someone who can help you. Xxx

Aberdeen has an accredited endo centre

bsge.org.uk/ec-BSGE-accredi...

and

Edinburgh Royal Infirmary is holds provisional status for becoming an accredited endo centre. Details are on this link

bsge.org.uk/ec-BSGE-provisi...

Both have endo specialist surgeons for gynae, colorectal and urology.

These multi disciplinary teams are what you need when you have a complex endo case such as yours.

There is also NHS guidelines published late last year for your care.

Also well worth a read through and to save in favourites, so you can refer back to it if you need to. It is a pdf file.

You need to ask your GP or the current consultant to refer you to an endo centre.

HI Gigie

I'm sorry to hear that, I really feel for you. I'm going through a similar thing. Went to have a cyst remove a few weeks ago and then on waking the surgeon said that they couldn't get at it due to loads of adhesions and said the need a hysterectomy. I'm waiting to see my specialist (in Sussex), and I'm just hoping that he doesn't say the same! I'm 40 and have not kids.

Definately get a second opinion I'm sure there must be someone out there who can help. How are your symptoms? Are they manageable?

Good luck and keep us posted.

Pip
