Pending laparoscopy in agony.

Hello.

At first I would like to apologize for my English.

It will be a long post.

It all started about 2 and a half years ago. The first diagnosis is kidney stones. I had ESWL done 3 times and a 24 hour urine sample showed that the kidney stones were cleared. Unfortunately, the pain remained. The next diagnosis is Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I had a colanoscopy and it showed nothing. In the meantime, I was in the hospital many times, they took my blood many times, I had ultrasound, X-ray, computed tomography and MRI done many times, which also showed nothing.

A year ago, I finally came across a wonderful gynecologist who immediately guessed what was wrong with me. She described to me how my treatment would go and if it worsened, I would have laparoscopy. I got a ProStap injection and Livial hormone pills. The injection was repeated 2 more times.

I had another appointment, unfortunately the appointment was renamed to an appointment over the phone, but the gynecologist did not call (it was another gynecologist). When I called to ask what was going on, I found out that they had a problem with the system and my visit was gone, and they could give me a new appointment in a few months.

At the new visit there was another gynecologist again who said (despite the evidence) that it was kidney stones and he would send me for an ultrasound to check it, if his thesis fails then he will treat me for endometriosis. I was furious because he wasn't listening to me.

I was in the hospital a few times again, where despite the tests they found that I was fine.

I asked my GP to send me for an MRI. Finally, after this examination, they found out that I had endometriosis. Two years to wait for a goddamn diagnosis. In October, I had an appointment with a gynecologist who referred me for laparoscopy. Since then, I am still waiting for any phone calls or letters when I have a laparoscopy.

Since then, I have been in the hospital 3 times because I passed out and had very severe pains, which even tramadol did not help. I called the Royal Oldham Hospital to find out, but all I know is that they can't speed my laparoscopy, even the letter from the GP failed. When I was on a hormone injection two weeks ago, the nurse told me that all treatments (except cancer) were canceled, but every week they make appointments to select people with a serious condition.

My condition is very serious and I have difficulty moving. My fiancé has to help me with everything, i.e. get dressed, wash myself. I feel as all the doctors aren't paying attention to me - I don't know, maybe because I'm not British? I understand there is a bad situation in England right now because of the virus, some people are waiting a long time for their research.

I have been waiting 2 and a half years for my cure. Every day I feel worse and worse, I lie in bed practically all days and try not to move if I don't have to. I really wish I could not feel the pain anymore, to be able to leave the house somewhere other than the hospital.

Is there anyone who could help anyway? To find hospital around Manchester who will make laparoscopy as soon as possible. Unfortunately I don't have money to do private laparoscopy.

Morning love,

I'm also on the long waiting list. I have some days of fatigue & agony but also some days with a break from the pain. Difference is that I have no diagnosis yet.

Please use the link below to search for an endometriosis specialist centre near you and ask your doctor to refer you to them.

Because you already have a diagnosis, there's no reason why you can't go straight to the specialist. Unfortunately, I think the waiting list will still be long unless you manage to go private but at least it's specialists and not guessing games.

I contacted the hospital in Stockport. They replied that because of covid, they did not perform any treatments except those requiring cancer. And that since I am on the list at the Royal Oldham Hospital, they think it will be the best way and that if I require immediate surgery, I should contact the GP who will contact the hospital that I require surgery. My GP has sent dozens of letters to the hospital saying I need surgery, but nobody takes it seriously.

How expensive can be surgery privately?

Hi I’m to on the long waiting list at st Mary’s, I spoke to my gyno the other day as I’ve been in agony an he said unfortunately there is nothing they can do an I’m still looking at 12-18 months as the list ain’t moved, I’ve been on list since May 2020, so think I’m looking at sometime in 2022 unless a miracle comes along, I literally got off the phone crying as I can’t cope with the pain anymore. I know there is nothing they can do with the pandemic it’s just frustrating with endo being an elective surgery its not priority, where is should be, I wish I could afford to go private but I can’t so it’s just a waiting game🙏 . Hope you get sorted quickly x

My queue doesn't move either. Recently I found out that the doctor is on sick leave and it is not known when he will come back. I would also like to be after the surgery. I also get tired of pain every day and swallow a lot of pills like tramadol, naproxen and co-dydramol. The pills help a little with the pain, but I have many other side effects.

Hope your surgery comes quickly. Take care and good health.
