Feeling so low, symptoms worse

Hi, sorry to be so down but I’m not sure where I vent as no one really understands.

I had a lap and diagnosis nov 19 (after over 20 years of back and forth to the gp) and I’ve seen my consultant once since due to Covid.

My pain has never changed for the better since surgery, it’s worse. This month has been the worst it has been - pain but also severe swelling which usually comes and goes but it’s been 10 days now. I’m having particular pain on my right side and the fatigue is horrendous. I’m back to work today after having last week off but I really don’t feel ready. There’s no rest in my job. I chased my gynae and I have a telephone appointment in feb. The last time they tried to push a coil on me, when I say push that’s what it was. I’ve no idea what my next step is.

Feel so low I could cry which isn’t like me. I’ve suffered for years and ‘got through it’ but I think I’ve reached my limit x

Hang on in there lovely, if you don’t feel ready to go back to work can you speak to your GP about that and also any pain medication? I know what you mean about reaching a limit - I think I hit mine last week and my GP signed me off work for a couple of weeks which has been really helpful. You shouldn’t have to just live with pain like this - I survived on ibuprofen and paracetamol for ages but it made such a difference when I talked to my gp and they were able to give me something stronger (naproxen and cocodamol). Take care, hope you day goes ok xx

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It sounds like you need to stay off work longer. Can your GP prescribe stronger painkillers? Have you tried CBD oil? I've also had a specialist push the coil on me, on a waiting list for my lap, but definitely dont want it. GP has given me progesterone only pill which has helped alot, but still get horrendous pain. I would recommend it though. Is your swelling due to bloating? I've had to cut out alot of food, starch, sugars, bread as it causes painful bloating.

HiDon’t worry about feeling down it happens when you’re in pain.

I’d contact GP to make sure nothing else is going on, rule out infection or another condition. It’s easy to assume it’s endo.

Did you have treatment during lap as well?

Not sure what pain relief you are on, pain nurse recommended Tramadol and consultant Amitriptyline.

It’s amazing you are working given the level of discomfort, maybe see about doing different tasks that enable you to sit down. I’d suggest more time off, but know it’s not always practical.

Hope you feel better soon 🙂

Thank you for your comments. I spoke to the gp surgery yesterday and they have made me an appointment today to go in.I think you’re right in that I shouldn’t have been at work. There’s no rest or slow in my job and I really struggled.

Thanks again x
