Sorry to have a bit of a moan, today is just one of those days. I’m on day 2 of a migraine and just feel really down about it all I was away on holiday last week and had some bleeding because I had my Prostap injection the week before, so that caused some flare ups whilst I was away. I’ve now stopped bleeding but have had an awful migraine since Sunday evening. I’ve had to call in sick at work who have been really nice but I still feel really guilty after having a week of annual leave and then having to ring in poorly. I’m on the waiting list for a lap which they think is 5/6 month wait but just feel very emotional and low today. Thanks for reading and feel free to have a rant back if anyone wants to talk or get it off your chest xx

Hello I couldn’t read and run.I was on a rant here last week, you will see my post 😀
It’s just utter crap this illness isn’t it, does the Prostap injections mimic a hysterectomy? I am on decepeptyl and have bleeding from time to time.
Sorry you have a really bad migraine take it easy and look after yourself.
Feel free to reply and rant more if you wish 😛x
Ah thanks lovely I’ve just had a look, sorry that you were having a rubbish day of it all as well! Everyday is hard but some days just harder than others aren’t they. The Prostap induces a chemical menopause so I’ve been better in the sense that I’m not having periods (since January) but the week after my injection (I have the 12 weekly one) I tend to get some light bleeding and a flare up. Also had made my migraines bad and I’m getting crap side effects like really bad joint pain and hot flushes despite being on HRT so just having a difficult time of it at the moment I think! Thank you for understanding ❤️Xx
Hello,
So sorry to hear you’ve been feeling like this. Honestly I’m like this myself. Some days it’s just so so overwhelming and you’re just sick of it. You don’t know what to do, let’s me honest there isn’t much for us to do.. rather than just wait and wait.
Take it easy, don’t over do it… especially with you having a migraine, as it might make it worse xx
Rant away, with you on all of it.
I should be better but the abdomen pains are bad today. A recent MRI has two radiologist opinions with adhesions tethering small bowel loops to the pelvis. One has put it down the other says no convincing tethering. Even though I’m in agony doing anything endo team says nothing they’ll do. I’m splashing out to see a colorectal consultant Thursday.
I really hope you get op sooner, keep trying for cancellations and migraine disappears 🙂
It’s so frustrating that you’ve got conflicting opinions, you shouldn’t have to pay to see someone private to get answers this is what frustrates me! I did this to see a specialist which was the best decision as he has been brilliant so far. He did an mri and had my results a few weeks ago and they came back ok but he’s still wanting to do a lap because he said it doesn’t always show on an mri so that’s good..just wish I could afford to pay for him to do private as I feel so fed up of waiting! Will the correctal consultant read your results and determine what’s going on? Thank you I’ll keep badgering them for cancellations xxx
I did this when I first saw a gynae and he was really good, I liked him, but after lap he passed to his colleague who is the apparent endo specialist. He's the one who had no MDT and didn't tell me before the hysterectomy. New endo team won't do anything as they think adhesions are from other surgery, I don't think they are, hence going to yet another consultant.
The original gynae said that about lap, but without any MRI first. Even second gynae said that after op. I asked him if any adhesions around the bowel, his response was, I'm not a bowel surgeon and you'd need a lap to find out 🤬😆
I sold bits for first lap, I couldn't wait. I really hope he'll help, not just say it's residual nerve damage and go away, that's basically what everyone else is saying.
Keep checking, with covid restrictions lifted others will be tossing up whether a holiday is more important.
Migrienes are horrific when I 1st got my inplant out I had them sooo bad got horrible tablets from doctor and had a funny turn off them. Wanted to be more natural as trying to conceive so gp recommended cut out caffeine and mshe also said grapes are a migraine trigger.I use 4head which is a menthol type stick you put across your forehead it helps a little and I also got a daith piercing.... its like in the middle of your ear as afew people had told me about those.
I havent had a migriene sonce I had it done... but if its just coincidence I dont know.... as I did completely reduce me caffine too although I had always jad that amount with no trouble prior to having inplant out x
Take care
They’re awful aren’t they 😞 when I was about 17 I went through a phase of having them weekly because of the pill I was on and have had them on and off for years depending on my hormones so think the Prostap has triggered them. I’ve got the menthol stick on migraine strips which help and also a wet flannel! I am a bit of a coffee addict so know that probably doesn’t help..interesting about the daith piercing! I’ve already got my tragus and top of ear pierced so might try that as I like piercings anyway so if it helps that’s a bonus xxx
Hi Dartmouth,
I am sorry to hear you are struggling. It is never 'easy' dealing with poorly health but the waiting times, the fighting required to be heard, believed, and receive treatment, never being able to make plans and not worry about the inevitable flare, the frustration and unfair feelings that accompany being unable to be as dependable as we want to be..it all adds up and makes it worse.
I hear you and you matter. Your pain matters. Your suffering matters. You deserve better.
I'm not sure if it will bring you any relief but I find the Kool 'n' Sooth migraine patches help with my migraines. They stay in place (unlike a flannel or cloth), stay cool for ages, and don't make things wet. They do have a minty scent meant to help as well, in case this could cause you issues. The brand name is better than any others I've tried which don't tend to stick as well or stay cold as long (and the scent can be more abrasive and sharp in other brands).
The kids ones can sometimes run cheaper and are only a little shorter if this a concern. It is worth watching for sales. I prefer to put them on my forehead but they can go on the back of the neck too. Not a cure but they make a big difference to me. I find they can be sort of slightly stingy on contact for about 2-5 min (it might just be the cold adjustment), but I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and I don't get any rashes or visual/lasting irritation.
I hope your migraine goes away, your flare.sunsides enough to let you rest properly and your lap is closer than anticipated. In the meantime, you are not alone. Sending you hugs.
Thank you so much for your reply I needed to hear that today ❤️ Yes I’ve got those strips they’re really good and agree they do provide some relief even though they don’t make the migraine go away. I’m getting through so many boxes of them I think B&M or home bargains I usually stock up on. Touch wood my migraine has passed now, just trying to take it easy and not over do it. Really appreciate your message thank you xxx
