I have been in and out of hospital for 2 years having lots of tests done for having pain in my stomach. This year I have had 3 scans in the hospital and waiting a laparoscopy to diagnose me with endometriosis as that is what the doctors are certain I have. In my last scan they found fluid around my bladder which they didn’t know where the fluid was from. I suffer a lot with water infection, on the 29th of November the doctors give me antibiotics for a water infection. On the 27th December still being on antibiotics the doctor rung me and said it’s not a water infection and they think I have a bladder problem. I got tested for diabetes and I was fine. The doctors have said they can’t do anything until the bladder specialist can see me. I am not able to go anywhere without a toilet I can’t even go for a walk. I need the toilet every 10 minutes. I’m in so much pain in my stomach. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it.

Bladder problem
Hi Ellie👋
Sorry you're going through this. Can I just check that you mean they ruled out an urinary tract infection?
Have you been sent for an ultrasound? Did they check if you completely empty your bladder during the ultrasound? If they haven't its worth asking for that while you wait for urology.
I have endometriosis and was passing urine sometimes every 30 minutes until recently. The ultrasound initially showed that I was incomplete emptying. But a recent flow test showed I was emptying properly so I started bladder retraining. I've gone from passing urine 14 times a day to 7. Before starting bladder retraining it's important to know you are not incomplete emptying and you don't have a UTI. Seems like you don't have an infection from what your doctor said.
Happy to send you the videos of a great physio that explains bladder retraining if you send me a DM. As per the forums rules we aren't allowed to post publicly.
Not sure where you are but in my area my doctor called urology, they first did a cystoscopy then gave me an appt with a urologist. Your GP may be able to call the urology team at your local hospital for advice too. Worth asking.
Do you experience pain when passing urine or any other symptoms? xx
Thank you so much for all that information, the doctors confirmed it’s not a UTI. I had my ultrasound and I emptied my bladder seconds before it. The gyno in the hospital said that I had fluids around my bladder but I have to wait till my laparoscopy. I’m not in pain while passing urine but I’m having pains in my stomach and I constantly need to go to the toilet.
I heard that if you have endometriosis and go gluten free it can sometimes help so I have started that today.
I feel like it is getting worse as I have never had this problem with urine before but the doctors just keep saying you have to wait till the laparoscopy and the bladder specialist.
You're welcome. So it was internal gynae ultrasound then. Worth speaking with another GP, explaining that you want to start bladder retraining and need to know you empty fully. If that's what you are interested in doing. They can refer you to a community ultrasound service.
Worth calling urology appointments or the secretary if you know the consultants name to say you'll take any cancellation. Let us know how you get on x
I will definitely do that! Thank you so much x
