Anyone with endo and PCOS?

Hello, I have suspected endo. Recently I came off the pill after 14 years because I wanted to get my body ready for hopefully having a baby in a year or so, so wanted to learn about my natural cycle. I came off briefly a couple of years ago which is when I was diagnosed with pcos. I then went back on the pill because thinking about a baby was a long way off and it helped my symptoms.

Whilst on the pill my periods could still be quite painful. But since coming off the pill 3 months ago my pre-period and during have been excruciating. I recently ended up in A&E twice because of the pain prior to my period and only through research did I find out this might be endo.

I haven’t been diagnosed but I am continuing to push with my GP. My concern at the moment is trying to understand if anyone else has pcos and endo? And if so, does anyone have any experience on how to manage this so as not to make either one worse? From what I’ve learnt to help conceive through pcos they will give me medication to encourage ovulation, but if I also have endo then that will mean more pain?

I’m wondering if speaking to a fertility doctor sooner rather than later may be a suitable option.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,

I have PCOS and endo, but my endo specialist won’t treat the PCOS so I don’t really know about how best to treat it.

I’m on the Mirena coil, which has helped endo symptoms but made PCOS ones worse.

Not all fertility doctors know much about endo, so I think it would be good for you to try and get a diagnosis first, then you can see an endo specialist who will be able to help with fertility.
