Iud coil and Fibromyalgia excessive bleeding.

I had the coil fitted 1st Oct all was ok but was in a fibromyalgia flare up ie pain all over fibro fog the lot 25 days later I had a period and as of today I am 20 days bleeding with cramps left side hip pain and today the blood is running out of me tampons and towels last 2 hours. Am I having a second period in a month or is this just the coil and hormones I am at my whits end.

I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the mirena can take 6-9 months to properly work. I’m still having cyclical issues even though I haven’t had a period in 3 years. I take lupron, mirena and progestin. I had the mirena fitted in February with my surgery. I also have fibro (and 16 other conditions). I think the surgery flared my fibro horribly and then the coil took a long time to settle because I have so many issues. I have a friend who said she bled straight for 6 months with the coil before it settled. Try and give it your best try. You can only have so many surgeries before you’re left in permanent pain so I do highly recommending finding a different birth control type if this doesn’t work out.
