Hi, When you say the coil, do you mean the Mirena?

Sounds like you should get it checked. Have you tried to feel for the threads? It is possible that it is out of position.

I hope you feel better soon.

Good to hear that you can feel them. Still sounds like you need to discuss with a doctor. Take care.

Hi! ok so ive had the coil in in April to stop my bleeding cuz I always bleed evryday. but it made it worse. Ive been bleeding really heavily since april & havent stopped. They did an xray and it showed tht the coil is in place. I think sometimes the body rejects it. Wait and see for atleast 2 more weeks cuz doctors always say to wait 3 months atleast. If it doesnt settle down then go back. Ive had 1 in before when I had my 2nd laparascopy and ended up in ane 2 weeks later to have it out. Good luck x

Hey,

I have been told it can take up to six months for the mirena to settle down. I have mine inserted almost 10 weeks now and also had terrible period last week. Apparently the first "few" can be painful. Google "caster oil pack" - it is the only thing that helps with my pain....
