Hi I am now 4 and a half weeks post op I had a laparoscopic removal of endometriosis around the bowel and also a hysterectomy
They advised me I could be bloated for a while afterwards but I’m 4 and a half weeks after op now and I’m so bloated still I am that bloated it’s really uncomfortable to breathe and my stomach looks that big it looks like I’m pregnant
Really suffering with it do you think it’s normal for me to be like this after this amount of time? Any advice would be great thank you

Have you spoken to your GP? That doesnt sound normal after 4 and a half weeks, they do use gas when they do the operation so they can see your organs, have you tried peppermint tea? I know that used to help some of my patients.
You must be so uncomfortable I'd speak to your doctor ask them about colpermin.....it's an IBS relief tablet which has peppermint oil in it helps with bloating trapped wind spasms.
I’m already taking colpermin as I already suffer with IBS too nothing seems to be helping though
Asked my consultant secretary they said bloating this bad completely normal apparently after a hysterectomy
Also yes appetite has been down since the op been feeling sick a lot too so on anti sickness drugs as well
Anaesthetist at operation said feeling sick for weeks after apparently is very common with gynae operations just getting fed up of feeling sick and being so bloated now for what feels like weeks on end x
That's crappy what we have to put up with......least you know it's normal to feel so bloated. Lack of appetite and sickness wont be helping either. Sorry I can't help have you tried having something fizzy to drink...maybe a good burp might help things move a bit.
How are you feeling after your hysterectomy? You healing ok?
Hi I have had a hysterectomy I had a lot of bloating snd swelling for a long time it can happen try not to do to much as this has an effect on swelling I noticed even 8 weeks post op if I was a bit busy I would get bloating in the evening be kind to yourself rest up as much as you can all the muscles have been cut snd it does take time to heal
I had my surgery a while ago tried buscipan but if did not really help unfortunately it’s time for everything to heal it’s frustrating cause you want to do things but suffer if you do xx
