WARNING think carefully before going through with laps during these tough times

Like most of you on here I was desperate for my lap as I’d been on the waiting list since 2nd January, as bad as the pain was if I’d have known then I would have waited. I had my lap on 26/10 and 2 days later after collapsing I ended up in resus and after been blue lighted to a larger hospital I found out I had a perforated bowel caused during my surgery. If that wasn’t bad enough I also found out I had Covid, which I’d caught whilst in hospital for my lap. So now 5 days later I am still in hospital gravely ill, I need surgery to repair the damage but cos I have Covid they said I probably wouldn’t survive the anaesthesia. So all I can do is wait, the doctors don’t know what will happen in the next few days I just have to hope and pray that I can fight the growing infection and covid at the same time. So please don’t rush into surgery, only go ahead if you absolutely need to as I wish I had waited x

I’m also due for surgery and frustrated it kept getting cancelled. Your message has made me look at things in a new light.

Hi Lizzy my goodness you have had it rough and continue to fight the Covid and endometriosis battle.

I was in hospital last week for ablation. Had to sign a form which says I may catch Covid whilst in there, I am fine so far.

Omg I’m so sorry to hear that it is really horrible to be in a situation like that , I’m also on the urgent waiting list but still haven’t received a date which i was really pushing to get one soon, your message has definitely made me re think about the surgery so thank you!

My stomach dropped when I read your post....

I was here looking for some reassurance, I am scheduled for a lap, hysteroscopy and polypectomy next monday.

I am terrified as ither health probs means I really struggle as it is.

Suspected endo, adenomyosis, confirmed fibroids was hoping in the very least to be pain free after recovery.

Your complications have freaked me out.... surgery got rushed through in last week and my partner is in Canada not due back till end of Nov.

You must have felt so scared especially if loved ones were not allowed to be there for you.As i type this,i really hope you are all better and your pain is under control.You are in my prayers tonight.
