So I had my phone call today with my consultant and he is putting me on the hrt gel to prep me for surgery for a hysterectomy, he’s calling me back in 6 weeks time to book in a date as said it shouldn’t be to long from then as private.
Staying on the zodalex injections until surgery so fingers crossed I have a plan in action.
Anyone else had the hrt gel?

I know finally 🤞he didn’t really say but he said you normally go on the gel 6 weeks before surgery as it’s oestrogen only so I would ask I know your waiting for one also.
Hopefully the secretary will call back next week and I can ask about it, or GP. It could be as you’re on the Zoladex, who knows 🙄, they don’t volunteer info easily 🤣
Yeh I would ask the GP as my consultant is emailing GP to prescribe it me so will ask then and let you know if it’s soon.
You still on the injections then?
I actually can’t wait might sound odd but just sick of it all now, I know it’s not a cure but I just hope things improve, what about you? Yours is soon isn’t it? X
I finished back in August (I think), I think it may have been working a bit more than realised.
I just want rid as well, scared to death, but this is worse 🤦♀️. Secretary mentioned end November, but wasn’t positive on this. Consultant is back next week. I think I may have got through how this is getting unbearable.
If they get rid of all endo, it should be better after hysterectomy, but no guarantees. I do think fibroids are playing a part, so it all needs to go.
Ah right well I’m over due mine as BP was sky high but it may now be because they used the smaller cuff so it inflates it🙈 but having my fourth tomorrow, could you not stay on them till surgery that’s what I’m doing?
Yeh I understand that it’s a big thing and a big operation and some people won’t get why were having it etc but it’s our choice, let’s hope it’s better for both of us when we’ve had it done.
I would chase again see if you can get a date, is it one night stay in hospital then ?I’ve not really discussed the actual operation with my consultant yet apart from having it all removed.
Someone mentioned Zoladex can put BP up, not sure who now. Mine went up once I’d started and now it’s levelled out again, could be coincidence. When I saw the consultant face to face, he didn’t think it was in bowel, this confused me as the consultant who did lap put down he could feel it in the bowel. Then he said that maybe the Zoladex had masked it on MRI. When I had CT colonoscopy I had to switch sides as they said endo was blocking the gas. I’m loathe to suggest it in case it was masking endo , I haven’t asked though, so it’s likely imagination. He said two to three nights, but I would think it depends on what’s done and recovery.
It still feels surreal that I’ve had one op and desperately trying to get the other out of the way. 🙄😆
I put a post on about it but who knows ah right that’s so confusing for you then, yeh I know what you mean just want to get it done now are you having open surgery then?
Initially over the phone he said robotic laparoscopy, one of the reasons I paid to see him. He changed his mind and said my anatomy was too small and likely rip the insides, so now open.
Did he mention if yours was open or lap, or still up for discussion?
