Waiting on lap

Hi,

I just phoned the secretary for gynaecology about getting added to the cancellation list for a laparoscopy (waiting since April and have placement for uni in February and am worrying about having to take time off) and she said that they would phone me anyway if there was a cancellation - has anyone else been told this?

She also said that a lot of theatres were being cancelled next week anyway due to covid (I’m in Glasgow not sure if anywhere is the same)? She didn’t give any indication of when they would start again so unsure where to go from here!

Hi

Really hope things aren’t delayed. I was expecting a call back this week, but haven’t heard anything. She mentioned something about covid and potential delays, but on of the trusts hospitals is supposed to be covid free as gynaecology was moved there.

Spoke to the secretary this morning, she thinks end November! Consultant is on hols and she’ll speak to him next week. They need to allow three hours and have bowel dr on standby so it gets more complicated.
