Hi, just finished my period and having endo pains! Could this be due to the time of ovulation?
I was recently prescribed mefanamic acid and tranexamic acid. So I took the tranexamic acid whilst on my period which reduced my heavy bleed (thank goodness, as I've been iron anaemic and need transfusions)
I'm just wondering for pain during / after period, will mefanamic acid help? Or is cocodomol stronger?
Thanks

They work differently so you can actually take both. As the mefanemic acid is a nsaid, like ibuprofen but stronger. You can pair this cocodamol which has paracetamol and codeine in it.
So depending on how much pain you are in you can see if one is enough or if it needs topping up by the other. But be carful with the codeine as it can block you up and so can GA so if you take it make sure you have stool softeners too. Encase you need to help get things moving.
I worry about the addictive nature of cocodamol taken long term. I had bad pain with my Endo but found Mefenamic acid my saviour, found I could take it 1st 48 hours of period pain and as and when necessary. But I do not know your pain levels so will have to leave it to you to decide what is right. 🤞
