So I have been waiting around 8 months now for a Laparoscopy and still don’t have a surgery date. I have cysts in both my ovaries on top of possible endometriosis. With the pain just getting worse and worse now it’s beginning to really bring me down and worry me.
Can it get worse if it’s just left??
My GP is finally after three months of being put on different medication, they are finally going to try and expedite my surgery.
I feel so defeated all the time being unable to function most days. I’m 22 and just want all this sorted now I’ve been having problems for sooo many years and have never been taken seriously. I’ve always just been told it’s just cramps.
I am just so paranoid about it being bad because of how much pain I’m in all the time and with having cysts as well, it’s all scary.
Any advice or anything?

It could be that doctors are using triage to list patients waiting for surgery, your GP maybe pushing you towards the top of the list. You could inform them that you will take a cancellation at short notice too. You maybe stressed out and that in itself can affect the pains levels. Hope you get your surgery soon 🤞
Try calling the hospital appointment line and speak to them. You could if you're willing go on the cancellation list, this can mean short notice appointment for your surgery. So doesn't suit everyone but it is one way.
Alternatively just speak to the appointments line and just see if you can get a feel for how long it'll be.
I’ve been waiting nearly 11 months for my surgery, they’re not doing many operations atm due to covoid and with the way things are going they might be stopping all routine surgeries again or so I was told by the waiting list office
